Cuttack,8।3(SSNEWS) International Women’s Day was celebrated in a grand ceremony at the campus of Sri Sri University at Vidyadharpur, Cuttack. It has been celebrated by Churchika – Women Leadership Forum. This year’s theme was ‘Leadership, Knowledge and Strength’. Eminent women who have made a name for themselves in various walks of life participated in the event and shared their experiences. These included Dr. Shruti Mohapatra, Founder & Head of ‘Swabhiman’ and State Centre for Disability Information and Resource Centre, Dr. Pragya Paramita Mishra, Founder-Carcinova Cancer Hospital & Vice-President, FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar, Sasmita Panda, Chairperson- ICSI Bhubaneswar Chapter & HR and Legal Head, Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited, Prof. Rajita Kulkarni, President, Business and FICCI India National Higher Education Council and Sri Sri University, Ms. Nitisha Mann, Deputy Director, State MSME-Cuttack, Monika Nair Patnaik, Managing Director, Sambad Group and Naina Das, a well-known actress of Odia and Telugu cine industry, were also present on the occasion.

The annual cultural festival of Sri Sri University ‘ORION’ was also formally inaugurated on the occasion. It is being celebrated for two days on March 8 and 9. Odia film actresses Naina Das and Preetiraj Satpathy were the guests of honour at the first session of the festival. Preetiraj also praised the ‘Art of Living’ with the grand hosting of ORION. Actress Naina lauded the entrepreneurs for celebrating the festival into a memorable day like Women ‘s Day. “The way women are and whatever situation they are in, their role in society is unacceptable” she told. The guests present also did not forget to appreciate the successful role of the university students behind organizing ORION. In the afternoon and evening, Umang’s cultural fest including street plays (theatre), dance competitions (vibrations), fashion shows (Celestia), Tech Fest and Business Fest were beautifully organized.
