Barang,1/11(ssnews)Zoo exchange programme between Nandankanan & Pilikula Zoo,Mangalore.As approved by Central Zoo Authority, a nine member team of Nandankanan zoo lead by Dr Sudipta Kumar Panda, ACF, SBG moved to Pilikula Zoological Park, Mangaluru , Karnataka for acquisition and transfer of approved zoo animals as detailed below.
Nandankanan Zoological Park will hand over
Golden pheasant (1:1)Silver pheasant (1:1)Asiatic lion (1:0)Gharial (1:1)Indian grey wolf (1:0)
In exchange, Nandankanan Zoological Park will receive the following animals from Pilikula Biological Park,Mangaluru,Karntaka.
Reticulated python (2:2)Wild Dog (2:2)Brahminy kite (1:1)Common palm civet (1:2)Large egret (0:2)
This exchange programme will help in pairing of wild dog, Brahminy kite & large egret and new bloodline infusion to other species.
The team will take intermediate halt at Visakhapatnam, Nellore & Bandipur on both side journeys.It is expected that the animal exchange programme will be completed by 10th of this month, said by DeputyDirector of NandanKanan .
